Totem Animals and Magickal Tattoos

Published by thorne at 1:36 pm under Magickal lifestyle, magickal living Edit This

Have you ever had a Spirit tattoo?  Do you have an animal totem or a symbol that’s important enough to you to have it’s energies embedded in your skin in black or in color?

These are a couple of small pieces that are nonetheless very important to the collector.  As a witch and a tattoo artist, I work in sacred space and bring focus as well as artistry to the piece.

This client felt a strong affinity with The Hermit Tarot Card, but didn’t want the cliche’d Led Zepplin Version so we found a softer version from an older deck.

The Futhark and Ravens protect this woman’s back.

Do you have spirit tattoos or stories to share?  Ol’ Auntie wants to know!

I wear a turquoise dragonfly whose ostensible purpose is to cover up an unfortunate error in judgment when I was 18. I choose dragonflies over butterflies as symbols of change and adaptation… they emerge from water into the air, they change color with the change of light, they are among the most adept fliers in the entire insect kingdom. Like my other totem (can you guess what it might be?), dragonflies represent my ability to adapt to the world around me while still staying true to my essence.
