So welcome to the ad hoc TT. Thirteen whatevers. Let’s have some fun and get to know each other a bit. Don’t forget to leave your link at the site and leave a comment here. Auntie Thorne loves TT-ers!

13 “Strange” Magickal Spell Ingredients From Thorne’s Cupboard

1) Tarantula Carapaces

I saved these from a friend’s pet tarantula.  Did you now tarantulas shed, just like a

2) Snake (?) Skin Sheddings

3) Cat Claws

The real ones.  Kitties shed their claw covers from time to time, and I find them stuck in my furniture (damn cats!  Hehe) or their scratching posts (;mostly in the furniture).

4) Iguana spine sheaths

Another part from a critter that sheds.  So I’ve told you what those items have in common.  What kind of spell or ritual work would you use these ingredients for?  I use some combination of these items in several different, but similar workings.

5) Empty robin, sparrow, crow and wild finch eggs/shells (I even saved one from my cockatoo who lays an infertile  egg from time to time.)

6) Empty cocoons.

These last 2 may also be included with the first 4 ingredients for the spell I’m thinking of.

7) Magnetic word tiles.

You know the kind; from those refrigerator poetry sets?  These are great to use as sorta 2 ingredients in one in a magickal spell working.  The word, of course carries the energy that you want, and the magnet draws it in.

8) Tiny unidentified bones.

I find these a perfect substitute almost anywhere that graveyard dust is called for. (Almost is the key word here.)

9) Graveyard Dust/Dirt.

10) Moth and Butterfly wings.

Great for astral travel, broomstick ointment, night eyes (moth), and any work involving flight (air travel safety, for instance).

11) Scorpions

12) Bat Wings

13)  Eye of Newt

Welll…. it’s actually whole Newts. I had an aquarium full of those cute lil “water doggies” which are newts and they all died.   I couldn’t bear the thought of taking their little eyes out, so I lay them entire on a bed of salt and dried them.  I’ve never really seen or done a spell that called for the famous “Eye of Newt”, but I thought, “hey, what self respecting witch doesn’t have Eye of Newt?  Also I have yet to use the bat wings or scorpions, butbut it never hurts to be prepared!

What “strange” or unique items is in your magickal arsenal? Ol’ Auntie wants to know!

That’s my TT!   Thanks for visiting. Don’t forget to stop by Thorne’s World and check out 13 Creative Uses for Garbage (Bags).  I’m off to visit now!

Peace, out!

I don’t suppose dried citrus peels count, hm? Rosebuds from my own garden? I’m terribly uncreative, I’m afraid. Great TT, though!

I have a rattle snake tail inside my guitar. Mountain lore has it if you’re brave enough to sneak up on a rattler and snatch his tail, you’ll never be too scared to perform in front of an audience.
